Mother, Daughter Found Dead In Pikeville Home; Boyfriend Of Mother Charged With Double Homicide

A mother and daughter were found dead in their home at Pikeville on Thursday night. They were identified as Deanna Lawrence, 46, and daughter Dedra Lawrence, 24.

A third person was taken to a Chattanooga hospital. He was identified as Joe Whitenburg, the mother's boyfriend. Police said he would be charged in the two deaths.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the double murder at 84 Sawmill Road, near West Railroad Avenue.

All three victims lived at the residence.

Woman Tries To Shoplift $700 In Merchandise In Dalton

The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a woman who attempted to shoplift $700 worth of merchandise from Walmart on October. The suspect was stopped by the store’s loss prevention staff and fled the scene. The incident happened on Oct. 4, at the Shugart Road Walmart.
