Shirley Marie Stevens, 88, of Collegedale, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2017.

Shirley was born in West Frankfort, in southern Illinois, and later moved with her family to Tennessee. She graduated from Collegedale Academy and attended Southern Missionary College. She worked as a secretary at Sears & Roebuck in Chicago, McKee Baking Company and the Village Market in Collegedale, and often assisted David in his chiropractic practice in Rossville. She contributed her musical talents and care for children to the Ooltewah Seventh-Day Adventist Church.  She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who devoted her life to the care and happiness of others.

She follows her husband Dr. David J. Stevens, who died in February, and leaves her children, Jeff Stevens, Sharon (David) Hopper and Susan Myers; grandchildren, Jaime Myers, Jackie (Eric) Bates, Kelsey (Weston) Porter, Kayla (Travis) Bibb, Chris (Jodie) Hopper, Allen (Emmalee) Hopper, Jonathan (Amanda) Hopper and 11 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Marva Stevens Fowler; brother, Paul (Laura) Stevens, Jr., and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Ooltewah Seventh-day Adventist Church, 9209 Amos Road, Ooltewah Tn. 37363, with Pastor Mike Pettengill officiating.  Interment will follow in Collegedale Memorial Park.
