Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Mitchell, 70, of Chatsworth/LaFayette, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017. He was born in LaFayette to the late Earl Ray and Carmie Gertrude Gilreath Mitchell. He served his country in the U.S. Army, where he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He had worked as a truck driver for McCleandon Trucking and had traveled most of the United States. He enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, muscle cars and studying history.
He is survived by his sons: Tim (Karen) Mitchell of Chatsworth, Jason (Stephanie) Mitchell of Chickamauga; sister: Donna Cordell of Rock Spring; brother: Mike (Darlene) Mitchell of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren: Andrew, Chad, Haley, Victoria, Eli and Bristol Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Gavin, Zelda, Hunter, Beau Mitchell and Sophia Keith; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and an hour Wednesday prior to the service. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 in the chapel, with Pastor Neil Brown officiating.
