Clarice Kettles Mullinax, 94, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017. She was born on June 22, 1923 in Dalton, Georgia. 

Clarice grew up in Dalton. She graduated from Dalton High School in 1940 where she was the valedictorian. 

Clarice married Willard Dooley in 1943 in Dalton. They were happily married for 52 years. Clarice was a member of Mt Rachel Baptist Church from the day she was born. 

She was a member of the Kettle Sisters quartet that aired on WBLJ for many years. The group traveled to revivals all over north Georgia. Clarice worked for 60 years of her life beginning with the family business “Dalton Cigar”. She then worked at Hackney Cash and Carry and ended her working career at Spiegel. She had many other non-paying jobs such as running the nursery at church, helping at the concession stand at Dalton High football games, helping the band booster club, and leading exercise classes at the recreation center. She also was a Cub Scout Den Mother and past president of the PTA. 

Clarice is survived by Mike and Gina Mullinax of Holly Springs, N.C.; Greg and Heather Mullinax of Castle Rock, Co.; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Mullinax Beattie, Meghan Mullinax Kraft, Damon and Jason Mullinax. She also has five great-grandchildren. 

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Jim Kettles; her husband, Dooley; her son, Kevin and sisters, Sirena and Helen. She also had two brothers, Carl and Jim Jr. 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Greene officiating. A private burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery, where she will be buried beside her beloved husband. 

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12 

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, GA Chapter, 922 E. Morris St. Dalton, Ga. 30721.
