Due to last Friday’s inclement weather, the Chamber Choir and Vocal Rhapsody Ensemble of Cleveland State Community College had to reschedule their holiday concert. The new concert date will be will on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the George R. Johnson Cultural Heritage Center.
The celebration will include many different styles and types of music from classic choral arrangements such as “Still, Still, March of the Kings” and “Angels We Have Heard on High,” to playful “novelty” songs like “Text Me Merry Christmas” and “The 12 Days AFTER Christmas,” and several non-seasonal selections both the Chamber Choir and Vocal Rhapsody has studied over the course of the semester, including “He Never Failed Me Yet,” “Lean on Me,” “The Boy from New York City” and many more. There will also be a set of music dedicated to our veterans, which will include a Patriotic Medley and “The Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy.”
Both choirs are under the direction of Karen Dale, associate professor of music.
According to Ms. Dale, “The students are excited about sharing their music with family, friends and the community. The concert is free, and we hope that everyone will come and help us celebrate the conclusion of a successful semester of study.”
