Donald Avans, 78, of Trenton, died Monday evening, December 11, 2017. He was a graduate of Davis High School, Class of 1957 and was a carpenter and an insurance agent with Liberty National for many years. Mr. Avans was an avid horseman and a member of the AQHA. He also helped organize the Davis Fire Department. Mr. Avans was of the Baptist faith and a member of the White Oak Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Euna Smith Avans; wife, Reba Avans; great-granddaughter, Samara Powell; and two sisters Charlcie Cloud and Patricia Phillips.
Surviving include his daughter, Susan Annette Cerutti; fiancé, Pat Tinker; sisters, Charlotte Richard and Neocia Bolton; brothers, Ronald Avans and Larry Avans; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel, with Rev. Lonnie Denny officiating. Interment will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton.
