Schmitt, Clinton J. (Ringgold)

Clinton J. Schmitt, Jr., 92, of Ringgold, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017. He was a life-long resident of the Chattanooga/north Georgia area. Mr. Schmitt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringgold, and a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving during World War II. Mr. Schmitt was retired from TVA.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Ann Young Schmitt; daughters, Varen (Mike) Thacker, Ringgold and Vonya (Dan) Drinnon, Ooltewah; son, Clint (Colleen) Schmitt, Ooltewah; sisters, Grace Denton, Donna Wooden, Martha Sandidge, all of the Chattanooga area; grandchildren, Jarrett, Aaron, Mitchell, Rebecca and David; great-grandchildren, Neva and Johnscott; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be conducted at noon Thursday, Dec. 21 in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Dan Whitaker and Rev. Eric Kennedy officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday prior to the service at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
