Norman Ellis, 77, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017. 

He was affectionately known as “Rocky Top Fred” because of his love of the Tennessee Volunteers.  The son of the late Grady and Pansy Cox Ellis he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ann Ellis.  Norman was a member of East Ridge United Methodist Church.  He was a United States Air Force Veteran, a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #43, a Mason and a Shriner.

Survivors include his son, Scott (Joanie) Ellis, Portland, OR; sisters, Barbara (Bill) Kress, and Carolyn (Don) Kress, all of Chattanooga; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend Ken Sauer officiating.

The family requests that contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 822 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.
