James “Grady” Williams, 71, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. Grady was a lifelong resident of Ringgold and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S.M.C. during the Vietnam War, earning the Vietnam Service Medal and Campaign Medal. Grady was employed at North American Royalties, Wheland Foundry Division for more than 25 years. He was a devoted Christian, loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, who will be greatly missed.
Grady was preceded in death by his parents, James Presley and Dicie Stella Hullender Williams, and brother, Arvil Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years, Carolyn Williams; daughter, Leatha (Chip) Whitfield; grandchildren, Storm Whitfield and Presley Whitfield; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in the funeral home chapel, with Brother` Michael Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, and prior to the service on Tuesday.
