If the Samaritan Center parking lot looks like Black Friday in December, it must be the Grand Re-opening Sale at the Samaritan Center thrift stores. This year’s event takes place Wednesday, beginning at 9 a.m.
Every year for the Grand Re-opening Sale, crowds stretch down the sidewalk well before the doors open at 9 a.m. They’re waiting for the Center’s best selection of the year, all stores are fully restocked with new-to-the-store inventory.
Every purchase helps the mission of the Samaritan Center to help their community’s most vulnerable residents.
The Samaritan Center is the only social services agency in Ooltewah, providing essential emergency aid services with over 9,000 client appointments in 2016. Last year it provided more than $1.8 million in assistance to the community. Much of the Center’s funding comes through the three thrift stores, which brought in $1.4 million in sales in 2016.
