Karen D. Gass, 42, of Rising Fawn, lost her long and courageous battle with brain cancer on Wednesday morning, December 6, 2017. Karen was a loving mother and wife who lived life to its fulliest. She was a graduate of Northwest Georgia class of 1994 and worked as a surgical technician for Shire Facial Plastic Surgery in Chattanooga. Mrs. Gass was a member of Hope Church in Trenton, GA and she would remind us daily “God’s Got This.” 

Preceded in death by her brother-in-law Jamie Gass. 

Surviving include her loving husband of 24 years Mark Gass; sons Bailey and Christian “Bug” Gass; father and mother Roy and Marilyn Wallin; sisters Cynthia Wallin and Rachel (Eric) Nix; father-in-law James Gass; brother-in-laws Tim (Jennifer) Gass and Shane (Sandy) Gass; nieces Addison Howard, Luca Nix, Taylor Gass, Alyssa Gass, Sophie Gass, Melissa Gass and Amanda Dillard; nephews Luke Gass and Nick Gass; also other family and close friends. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hope Church, PO Box 938, Trenton, Ga. 30752

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Trenton Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Cravatt officiating. Interment will be at the October Farms Divide Resting Place, 4308 Cloverdale Road, Rising Fawn.

Family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Thurday and 4-9 p.m. on Friday at the Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton and 1-3 p.m. on Saturday at the Trenton Baptist Church, Trenton.

Frattaroli, Caroline (Cleveland)

Caroline Frattaroli passed away on January 17, 2018, in Cleveland, Tennessee. She was born on June 26, 1945, in Niagara Falls New York to Joseph and Louise (Cicerone) Frattaroli. Yetta Levin Gropper, born July 2, 1925, passed away on January 18, 2018. She was the devoted wife of Howard, mother of Gary (Vicki) and Cheryl (Alan), grandmother of Josh, Zach, Brittany, Lexie, Abbe, and Ari. Arnold Joseph “A.J.” LeClair passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018. A.J. was born in Maine on Aug. 7, 1947. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps. Elderly Man Dies In House Fire In Cleveland

An elderly man died in a house fire in Cleveland on Friday night. Neighbors said they were able to pull a woman from the flames at the home at 685 4th St. SE, but were unable to save the man. Fire crews went to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. The cause of the fire is being investigated. (click for more)
