The Last Hug

  • Thursday, December 7, 2017

I was born in 1947. I guess you could say I have seen more than a few years roll by. Sadly, with every year that passes, so do many of my family and friends. All of us allowed a long life are also a witness to many sad losses.

With that thought in mind, I wrote a few words that I fastened to my refrigerator door. They remind me each day that life is often fleeting. With Christmas coming up very soon I wanted to share these words with you. I do hope you enjoy them --- in the manner I intended.

Merry Christmas every one and a very Happy New Year.

The Last Hug
Embrace those you love.
Hold them while you can.
Squeeze them with all your’ might.
Because, hugging time will end!
That end of time is very sharp!
Cuts deep… like a knife!
That last hug… must hold you,
For the rest of your life!
