Catoosa County Fire Department will be partnering with American Red Cross and the Boy Scouts of America to perform a Smoke Alarm Blitz on Saturday, Dec. 16 beginning at 9 a.m.
Crews will canvas the area of: Carol Drive, Karen Drive, Ore Street, Row Lane, Clydesdale Lane, Pinto Lane, Stallion Lane and Peyton Lane.
"We will be going door to door ensuring residents have working smoke alarms. In the event the citizens do not have working alarms, crews will install working alarms in the residence and then will review a home safety plan with them that covers escape routes, fire hazards and smoke alarm monthly testing," officials said.
