William Ray Tutton, 86, of Ft. Oglethorpe, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was born to the late William Grady and Era Ray Grimes Tutton in Lupton City, Tn., has lived in Fort Oglethorpe for many years and was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and retired in 2009 from the brick and block industry. He was also a member of the Home Builders Association of Tennessee, where he served as the state director for nine years. He enjoyed playing golf, squirrel hunting and spending time with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother, who will be greatly missed.
William is preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Ann Tutton; first wife, Johnnie Lou Ketner Tutton; son Gary Tutton; and siblings, Wally Tutton and Jerrine Pettyjohn.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kimberly Tutton of Ringgold and Randy and Beth Tutton of Chickamauga; brothers, Bobby Tutton of Auburn, Ca. and Al Tutton of Rathdrum, Id.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 in the funeral home chapel, with Minister Reed Perry officiating. Internment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday and prior to service on Wednesday.
