UTC Softball Coach Frank Reed to Speak at Quarterback Club Today

Six-time Southern Conference softball coach of the year Frank Reed is the speaker at today's Chattanooga Quarterback Club lunch at Finley Stadium.

Reed will give an update on the team's first weekend of play in Florida.

The lunch is $10 and $4without the meal and is open to the public.

 

Coach Reed is in his 16th year as head coach of the Chattanooga Mocs softball team.

He has racked up six Southern Conference Coach of the Year honors, in addition to eight SoCon Tournament Championships, eight regular season titles and eight NCAA Regional appearances.


Reed has coached in the Scenic City for 26 years, including 11 seasons at Chattanooga State Community College. He has compiled an 1,039-430 all-time record, including a 563-343 mark at UTC. In 2016, Reed was inducted into the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame.

His squads boast three SoCon Players of the Year, five Pitchers of the Year, three Freshmen of the Year, as well as 80 All-SoCon picks, including four on the second team and three on All-Freshman team in 2016. Additionally, his teams have hit 35 wins or more in a season 11 times and 40-plus four times.

The Mocs won regular season SoCon titles in 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2015. They added tourney crowns in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2015.
