Senator Lamar Alexander on Tuesday released the following statement on his vote to confirm Linda McMahon to lead the U.S. Small Business Administration:
“I’m glad to vote for Linda McMahon today so she can get to work supporting Tennessee’s 580,000 small businesses and helping to reduce the burden of overregulation that our entrepreneurs face. The Small Business Administration also plays a major role in helping small businesses recover from disasters and has already started helping those affected by the East Tennessee wildfires by approving 70 loans totaling over $6 million for individuals and businesses in Sevier County.
I’m looking forward to working with Mrs. McMahon to continue helping those affected.”
The U.S. Small Business Administration was created in 1953 to help small businesses, and today maintains a network of district offices across the country. On Dec. 16, as a result of the presidential disaster declaration for the Sevier County wildfires, the U.S. Small Business Administration began offering assistance to businesses, homeowners and renters to help them recover.
