Bradford, Robert Dion (Rising Fawn)

Robert Dion Bradford, 74, of Rising Fawn, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Margate, FL.

He was a graduate of Dade County High School, Class of 1958, and the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1962. Mr. Bradford then entered the U.S. Army in 1963 and served in Germany as a Second Lieutenant and was then promoted to First Lieutenant. After serving his tour of duty he served in the Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Bradford returned home and was employed by E.I. Dupont in Chattanooga, TN and then worked for Combustion where he retired after many years of service. He was a member of the Rising Fawn Baptist Church for over 50 years and had attended the Trenton United Methodist Church for the past 10 years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Dewey and Margaret Castleberry Bradford; and brother Dewey Wayne Bradford. 

Survivors include his wife of 51 years Linda Hawkins Bradford of Rising Fawn, GA; son Bruce D. (Debbie) Bradford of Cleveland, TN; godson Robert Turner (Bobby) Bradford of Lookout Valley, TN; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday February 19, at the Trenton United Methodist Church with Rev. Reese Fauscett and speaker Bobby Bradford officiating. Interment will follow in Hanna Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 18 at the Ryan Funeral Home and 1-2 p.m. Sunday, February 19 at the Trenton United Methodist Church, Trenton, GA.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Hanna Cemetery Trust Fund, PO Box 104, Rising Fawn, GA 30738.
