Chattanooga Hamilton County NAACP Offers Mayoral And City Councilman Candidate Table Exhibits

The Chattanooga Hamilton County Branch of  the NAACP invites the public to visit its Mayoral and City Councilman Candidate Table Exhibits. The grand opening is on Saturday, from 1-3 p.m. 

The Purpose of the Table Exhibit: 
To give the public an opportunity to learn more about the candidate platform. 
To give the voter an opportunity to meet the candidates and ask questions (All candidates were encouraged to be present) 
To create a more informed and educated voter prior to casting a ballot

The Rules of the Table Clinic are as follows:

1. All candidates were asked to provide their own display table
2. Display tables could include any and all political campaign literature and materials, Power Points on laptops, maps and graphs
3. Candidates have been asked to  be on site to meet and greet voters and to answer questions  during exhibit hours

Requirement for All Candidates:

All candidates were asked to present a two to four page synopsis of their plan to improve  living conditions for African Americans and poor people residing in the impacted communities (District V, District VII, District VIII and district IX).

The Synopsis must include the following:
Job Training Plan 
Affordable Housing and Low Income Housing Plan
Violent Crimes and Gang Reduction Plan 
Job Plan for At Risk Youth 
Plan To Put Money Back into Poor Neighborhoods   (Including but not limited to Alton Park, Avondale, Eastdale, Piney Woods, East Lake, East Chattanooga,  Ridgedale, Lincoln Park, Churchville, Bushtown) 

 Exhibit Showcase Dates
Saturday, Feb. 18, 1–3 p.m. - grand opening
Saturday, Feb. 25, 1-3 p.m.
Saturday, March 4, 1-3 p.m.
Location of Exhibits: 756 E. MLK / NAACP Headquarters
