The Chattanooga Mocs softball team fell to UConn 5-1 on the final day of the Chattanooga Challenge at Frost Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The loss drops the Mocs to 3-6 for the year while the Huskies of UConn improve to 2-2 overall.
Chattanooga returns to action next weekend by hosting its second-straight tournament at Frost Stadium with the Frost Classic. The tournament will host FDU, Northwestern State, St. Louis, UT Martin and Western Michigan in addition to the Mocs.

For the fifth-straight game and sixth of the season, Chattanooga allowed runs to the opposition in the top half of the first.
The Huskies scored a run after they loaded the bases with one out and registered a sacrifice fly to right field. Chattanooga would tie the game up 1-1 in the bottom of the second as Amanda Beltran doubled to right-center and advanced to third on a Brook Womack single to right before scoring on an Emma Sturdivant sacrifice fly to left. Beltran's run would be the only of the game for UTC.
UConn plated two runs in the fourth by way of two solo homers and scored two unearned runs in the fifth on one hit and one Moc throwing error, opening up the eventual final score of 5-1.
Payten Price (2-4) took the loss for the Mocs as she tossed all 7.0 innings, allowed seven hits, five runs (three earned) while striking out eight.
Aly Walker went 2-for-3 at the plate and upped her season batting average to .417 (10-for-24). The ten hits ties a team-high with Ashley Conner (10-for-25, .400). Sturdivant continued her fast start to the season with a 1-for-2 performance at the plate today including a double and sacrifice fly RBI. She currently leads the team with a .421 (8-for-19) batting average and also leads the team with three doubles. Beltran and Womack rounded up the five total hits with a hit a piece in the loss.
