Charles W. Parker, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away early Monday morning, February 20, 2017, at the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center.
Charles was born in Hixson, to the late Ray and Clara Parker. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957, and was retired from TDOT after 40 years of service.
Charles was preceded in death by his brother, E.L. (Everett) Parker and wife, Jean; grandson, Chris Parker; brothers-in-law, Herman Owens and John Lambert.
He is survived by Irene Parker, his wife of 25 years; son, Douglas (Regina) of SC; daughters, Darla Bowman, Atlanta, Belva (Jim) Adams, Acworth, Ga., and Teresa Weddle, Chattanooga; sisters, Jeanette Lambert, Jasper, and Wanda Owens, Ringgold; brother, Oscar (Peggy) Parker, Jasper; grandchildren, Matt Parker, Carissa Donges, Jace Bowman, Dave Adams, Caroline Adams and Emily Weddle; great grandchildren, Anna and Ella Donges.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, in the funeral home chapel with private burial at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Charles will be greatly missed by his family and his many neighbors and friends.
