Coach McGrew said of the performance, "We continue to see a lot of positives as we move forward.  Obviously, we want to win every time we tee it up and will always be a little disappointed when it doesn't happen.  This is one of those times where you just tip your hat to the competition, they were better than us this time." Mcgrew added, "If we continue to work, the improvement will continue and when we put it all together it will be something special."

The #3-ranked women's team will tee it up again on March 14-15 in Lake Mary, FL at Seminole State Spring Break.

MEN'S INVITATIONAL

The #3 Dalton State men's golf team made it two-in-a-row, repeating as Georgetown College Invitational Champions with a two-day total of 591.  The Roadrunners found theirselves one stroke off the round 1 lead held by Indiana Tech.  Round 2 provided a solid 295 team score that saw Dalton State take the lead and win by 4 strokes over St.
Andrews.  Freshman S.M. Lee lead the Roadrunners carding an even-par 72 en route to a tie for 4th.  Freshman Sport Allmond tied for 11th with a 3-over 75.  Dalton Johnson(73) and P.J. Shields (75) rounded out counting scores for Dalton State.  Freshman Ben Rebne struggled in the second round with an 8-over 80. Chase Cole (6th) and Adam Morris (7th) both played extremely well and scored top 10 finishes as individuals.

"It wasn't the prettiest win, but as a coach you never complain about winning," said coach Rickett.  "Yesterday was rough and we didn't take advantage of our opportunities.  Today was better in more difficult conditions.  This gives us a good starting point early in the spring as we continue to work towards our goal.  With a lot of these individual performances, it is fun seeing the depth fo this team moving forward."

The #3-ranked men's team will be back in action on March 6-7 in the Sand Shark Classic in Bluffton, SC.
