Three artists, who are all family members, will each create a portrait from a live model in a three-hour painting demonstration of Art Throw Down. Husband and wife, Daud Akhriev and Melissa Hefferlin, and their son, Timur Akhriev, will go brush to brush to pastel in this family feud art throw down edition.
Guests may watch as each artist starts, carries and refines a portrait from life to its completion. Both Mr. and Mrs. Akhriev will be working in oil paint, while Ms. Hefferlin works in pastels.
Questions, comments, and hollering are all recommended from the audience. The art works created during the demonstration will be auctioned at the end of the night.
Artists and art lovers are all welcome. Drinks and light refreshments will be available and guests may bring a snack or sack dinner.
The Art Throw Down, Family Feud Edtion will be held Friday, March 3, from 6-9 p.m. at Townsend Atelier | The Arts Building | 301 East 11th St.
The event is open to the public free of charge. Reservations are not required, but an RSVP on the Facebook event page would be appreciated.
