Kathleen Austin Gentry, 72, of McDonald, Tennessee, died on Monday February 20, 2017.

She was a native of McDonald TN and lived in Bradley County until the time of her death. She was an active member of Dalton Pike Baptist Church for 27 years. She taught Sunday School for a season and did many others jobs as needed. She loved her church and her church family dearly. She was retired from Shaw carpet.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lester Austin and Laura Grooms Austin Cannon Edwards; two daughters Nettie Vaughn and Anita Vaughn Barone; two sisters Carolyn Cannon Arthur and Helen Cannon Heneger; and three brothers William (Smiley) Austin, James (Red) Austin and Roy Cannon.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Charles Gentry; brother, Bobby Edwards (Sue); sisters, Marie Austin Caughron, Sandra Cannon Epperson (Gary), Teresa Edwards Williams (Greg); step-daughters, Kim Nipper (Scott) and Missy Payne (Mitchell); step-sons Darris Gentry and Tommy Gentry (Tammy); grandchildren, Kadie Vaughn, Nicole Litton, Keisha King (Terray), Daniel Burnette and Nikita Ochat (Junior); great-grandchildren Sky Johnson, Kaden and Jonah Thompson, Landon and Kali Litton, Terran, Tyra, and Tania King, Montana Burnette and Kayla Ochat, Jonathan Mantooth, Kira, and Macy Nipper, Tia Scoggins and Tamara Rogers (Preston); sister-in-law, Dorothy Austin; and many nieces and nephews.

The celebration of life funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, at 3 p.m. at the Dalton Pike Baptist Church, located at 2965 Dalton Pike, with Pastor Dudley Nichols and Elder William Austin officiating the service. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery with Charles Gentry, Bobby Edwards, Steve Edwards, Eric Thompson, Terray King, Jerry Lee Swafford serving as pallbearers and Jimmy Hice as an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, from 5-8 p.m. at the church as well an hour prior to the service, from 2-3 p.m. service time on Friday.
