Trump Needs To Come Run Hamilton County Schools

  • Thursday, February 23, 2017

After shoveling through all the hyperbole, rhetoric, blustering, and noisy tantrums in the local news outlets this week, it's clear that no leadership involved with the darling Hamilton County School System knows how to manage things.

Why is building a new Harrison Elementary such a problem for people?  Word is that raw sewage erupts from restroom stalls.  Who wants their child to go to school with such a longstanding problem?  CSLA is fixable, but now demands to be a high school with sparkling new facilities, what's with that agenda?  East Hamilton needs a new middle school?  Didn't they just get a state of the art high school a couple of years ago?  Why do they need one now?

Things are so rudderless that HCDE turned over the athletic facilities of East Ridge to their city because a football stadium can't be built.  Not to mention there is not even a millimeter of progress with the new superintendent search.

I'm proposing that President Trump take a quick timeout and have someone from his administration come take the reigns and the checkbook from the local populace and straighten things out.  On time and under budget, from what I'm told.

It's either that or slash inflated HCDE administration salaries by 40 percent and raise everyone's property taxes by five dollars.  Then the surplus will be so large that everyone can get a new school and still have enough money leftover for Tim Boyd not to give it to the local jail for an upgrade. It's a win win.
