Rosa Mae Burts, 71, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in a local hospital. 

She was employed by the Walker County Board of Education for many years.  She was a faithful member of Alton Park Church of Christ. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Rosa Lee Shropshire; siblings, Earlie Shropshire and Walter “Billy” Shropshire. 

Survivors include her husband, Jesse Harve Burts; sons, Steve Jerome Burts of Chattanooga, Ronald Christopher (Michele) Burts of Douglasville, GA, and Ricosta Sanchez  Burts, Sr. of Rossville; daughter, Jessie Mae Burts of Houston; grandchildren, Ciara Burts, LaDarrius Burts, Terence Burts, Kyndall Burts, Ashlee Burts, Shacovia Williams, Jicosta Burts, Ricosta Burts, Jr., Mya Burts, and Elijah Burts; three great-grandchildren; brother, Tommy Shropshire of Rossville; sisters, Annie Johnson and Hattie Geeter, both of Summerville, GA; other relatives and friends. 

Visitation is on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at the Alton Park Church of Christ with the funeral to follow at noon with Brother Phillip Henderson as the eulogist. 

Burial will be in Summerville Cemetery in Summerville, Ga. 

Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga, Inc.
