MACC To Present Workshop On Epilepsy And Seizures March 7

The Mountain Arts Community Center, 809 Kentucky Ave. in Signal Mountain, will offer a free epilepsy awareness workshop led by the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Tennessee on March 7 at 6:30 p.m.  

"Are seizures contagious? Should I put a spoon in someone’s mouth during a seizure?

Is epilepsy common in my area?  These are common questions that are asked in relation to seizures and epilepsy," officials said.

During the workshop, videos will be shown showing some of the most common types of seizures, epilepsy "myths and truths" will be explored, participants will be instructed on life-saving seizure first-aid techniques, reducing triggers be discussed, and more.
