Douglas Warren MacGregor, 84, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017, in a local hospital.
He was born in Altoona, PA. He was a graduate of Florida Southern and a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, and was a Professor at Broward Community College in Broward County, FL. He had lived in the Cleveland area for the past eleven years and is a member of First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed eating breakfast at the beach with his family, woodworking, running, and was an avid reader as well as a constant viewer of Fox News; but most of all, he really loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Howard MacGregor and Dorothy Stroup MacGregor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara H. MacGregor; three children, Karen MacGregor of Cleveland, Tracy Horwitz and husband Phillip of Cary, NC, and Susan Casey and husband, James of McKinney, TX; three grandchildren, Ashley Quintano, Tyler Horwitz and Ben Casey; and one great-grandchild, Kayla Quintano.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 27, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with James Casey and Phillip Horwitz officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Monday at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
