John Fletcher
Pastor John Thomas Fletcher, Jr., 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at his residence.
He was a 1968 graduate of Howard High School. He was employed by Combustion Engineering for many years. Pastor Fletcher was a minister for many years, and in 2013 he retired from the Silver Crest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, John T. Fletcher, Sr.; stepfather, James Banks; mother, Essie Banks; daughter, Marlene Mashon Fletcher Jackson; grandparents, Carrie Carter and Robert Carter; mother-in-law, Gussie Sanders; father-in-law, Aaron Sanders.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Brenda Fletcher; daughter, Carla (Rolandus) Hill; son, Byron Roshell; grandchildren, Bethany Hill and Jonathan Hill, all both of Chattanooga; brothers, Alphonza (Rosiland) Fletcher of Atlanta, George (Judy) Miller of Virginia, Robert (Ann) Miller, and Ricky (Rosalind) Banks, both of Chattanooga; sisters, Doris Wallace and Loretta (Maxwell) Bamisaye, both of Chattanooga; aunts, Dorthy Harris of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Friday, March 3, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Petersen officiating and Pastor Johnnie Carter as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
