Lorine Vena Moore Casson, 79, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died on Sunday, February 26, 2017 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s.
Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She was born to the late Claude Moore and Carrie Cheek Moore on October 30, 1937. She was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her best friend, John (Bud) JR Casson, in September of 1952 in Ringgold. She raised her six children with patience, love and strength. From the very beginning, she dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and mamaw. She also was an excellent cook and homemaker. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Bud) JR Casson; her parents, Claude and Carrie Cheek Moore; her brother, Brian Moore; her son, Mike Casson; her daughter, Marsha Darlene Brewer and Husband Steve Brewer; and great-grandson, Hunter Kendall Davis.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky Casson and Floyd & Martha Casson; her daughters, Gay & Dennis Stephens and Vickie & Kendall Davis; her grandchildren, Lori Grant Miller, Kristie Davis, Kellie Harrod, Deouin Rouse, Labron Davis, Justin Stephens and Jacob Casson; several great and great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Don Moore and Harold Moore; her sisters, Zulla Hall, Pat Casson, Brenda Auberry and Sharon King; and a special friend Donna Carleton.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Parm officiating. The interment will follow in the Cookson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 27 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
