U.S. Navy Veteran Was Local Business Owner And Member Of The Choo Choo Chorus

Frank T. Delaney, Jr., 93, died on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at a local hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, surrounded by family after a brief illness.

He was born on November 29, 1923 to Margaret and Frank T. Delaney, Sr.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Klemm and brother Dr. John T. Delaney.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce (Molloy) Delaney, his six children, Louanne Delaney of Charlotte, NC, Mary Joyce Delaney of Chattanooga, Jane Delaney (Brett) Peloquin of Charlotte, NC, Frank III (Beth) Delaney, Michael (Jennifer) Delaney and Maureen (Robert, Jr.) Kidwell of Chattanooga; and his six grandchildren, Elizabeth Kidwell, Robert Kidwell III, Madison Delaney, Meagan Delaney, Ashlynne Delaney and Christian Kidwell. 

Born and raised in Chattanooga, Frank graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1941.  He attended the University of Notre Dame from 1941-1943 before joining the U.S. Navy serving from 1943-1946 in the South West Pacific Campaigns.

After the war he joined Mills & Lupton Supply Company, where he worked for 44 years. After Mills & Lupton, Frank started and ran his own business, FTD Enterprises, Inc.

Frank loved to sing!  He was a member of the Choo Choo Chorus for 13 years, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus choirs and a long time member of the Chattanooga Civitan Club.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, and from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 3, at OLPH Catholic Church with Reverend James Vick officiating. 

Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
