Aging And Care Planning Education Program Offered On Lookout Mountain

  • Tuesday, February 7, 2017

Tennessee is home to more than 6.3 million people. Of these, almost 2.1 million (33.1 percent) are over age 50 and more than 1.2 million (19.3 percent) are over 60. "This is the fastest growing population in our state,” said Amy French, manager of Programs for the Alzheimer's Association. "Aging presents challenges that go beyond the issues of dementia. It’s vital to plan ahead to assure we 'age well' and are prepared for the fast-approaching future.”

BrightStar Home Care, the Alzheimer’s Association and several community partners are collaborating to present “The Continuum of Care: A Conversation About Aging”. This program is custom designed for those who wish to know more about the care-planning and resources needed to manage issues related to aging. A guided question-and-answer session features experts on care-planning, home care options, hospice, dementia care, legal and financial, and medical matters.

“The Continuum of Care: A Conversation About Aging,” takes place on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Christ Reformed Baptist Church, at 901 Scenic Highway, Lookout Mountain. It is free and open to the public. RSVP to BrightStar Home Care at 423 296-6640.
