Loretta Robinson
Loretta Gustus Robinson, 75, of Chattanooga, died peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence.
She attended the Chattanooga Public Schools. Loretta was well known for her love, affection, and compassion for people. She loved the Lord and confessed that Jesus Christ was her Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother Board and was the Sunday School Secretary. She served on any other ministry she was asked to be a part of until her health failed. Loretta was a very faithful and dedicated employee of Memorial Hospital for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Genell P. Gustus; grandmother, Susie P. Wilson; brothers, Roger E., Clyde S., and James W. Gustus; granddaughter, Katherine Robinson; nephews, Chevalier Thompson and Kwame T. Gustus; sisters-in-law, Rubysteine, Gwendolyn, and Bernadette Gustus. Survivors include her loving and very dedicated daughters, Johanna Jarrett of Chattanooga, Reba G. (Joel) Petrow of West Minster, CO, and Redina (Lawrence) Cruz of Hermitage, Tn.; son, Eric M. (Teresa) Robinson of Mt. Juliet, Tn.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Rachel Lindsey and Mary Sue Slaughter, both of Chattanooga; several nieces; great-nieces; nephews; great-nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is on Friday, Feb. 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne L. Johnson as the eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
