Evelyn Dent
Evelyn Lois Sexton Dent, 93, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017.
She was born July 8, 1923 in Dayton, Tennessee to the late Oscar Lee and Nola Glenna Sexton.
She was employed several years as a payroll clerk by Hensley-Schmidt Construction and Consulting Firm.
Mrs. Dent was a long standing member of Ridgeview Baptist Church.
Her daughter, Cathy Hawk preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (Patricia) Cornish of Winter Springs, Fl., and Patrick (Patsy) Cornish of Merritt Island, Fl.; grandchildren, Tracy (Darren) Rankin of Chulouta, Fl., Benjamin (Elizabeth) Cornish of Winter Springs, Fl., Tim Hawk, Ken (Emily) Cornish, Joe Hawk, and Wyatt Hawk all of Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Darien (Andrew) Turman of Orlando, Madison, Mackenzie, Jesse, Emma, Annabelle, and Kimber Hawk, all of Chattanooga.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 3, at the funeral home from 6-7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 4, at 11 a.m. in the East Chapel with Reverend Bruce Sloan officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
