CSO Celebrates Music In Our Schools Month

  • Wednesday, March 1, 2017

Thanks to the support of Unum and other donors, more than 25,000 students interact with the CSO each season. For more than 75 years, the CSO has inspired, engaged, and enriched the lives of students from more than 12 counties, said officials. CSO programs for students are wide reaching and build upon the work being done by music teachers and private music instructors.

The highlights of our programs include:
Ensembles In Schools - Principal musicians visit elementary, middle, and high schools to perform age-appropriate concerts and reinforce musical concepts

Young People's Concerts - Designed especially for students in grades 1-5, these concerts feature the full orchestra in a program of symphonic classics, illustrating the sections of the orchestra

Instrument Petting Zoo - The CSO's collection of instruments are loaned to music teachers to allow students to touch and play instruments while they are learning about them

CSO Youth Orchestras - Serving more than 200 students, four ensembles provide young instrumental musicians performance and learning opportunities
