Star Party At Cloudland Canyon State Park Is April 1

  • Thursday, March 16, 2017

The public is invited to a Star Party at Cloudland Canyon State Park on Saturday, April 1 at the starting point of the Disc Golf Course from 8-11 p.m.  The event is sponsored by the staff and friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park and conducted by the Barnard Astronomical Society.

"Come see the wonders of the night sky through our telescopes. This night the moon will be a crescent and will show awesome crater detail and also an opportunity to see 'earthshine.' Jupiter will also be visible. We will also be looking at and identifying the constellations of spring.

"As always we will also  be observing DSO's(Deep Sky Objects) like star clusters, nebulae and other galaxies like our own Milky Way," organizers said.

The astronomy programs are free to all. Usual parking fee at the park applies.
