Community Rally In Support Of Parks And Public Lands Is Tuesday

Protect Our Parks Chattanooga will hold a rally with conservation groups, outdoor enthusiasts, and community activists to demonstrate support for our parks and public lands. The rally will take place on Tuesday, at 5 p.m. at Miller Park on East MLK Boulevard.


Organizers said, "Community members will gather in Miller Park in the heart of downtown Chattanooga to encourage Senators Corker and Alexander to defend our parks and public lands as well as the bedrock conservation laws that provide clean air, clean water, and open spaces."

Speakers will include Dr.

Shawn Trivette, professor of Sociology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Davis Mounger, co-director of Tennessee Heartwood, and Chad Wykle, co-owner of Rock/Creek Outfitters.


Protect Our Parks Chattanooga is a community initiative focused on urging congressional leaders to defend parks and public lands and the laws that protect them.
