On Wednesday, President Donald J. Trump  arrived in Nashville to attend several meetings  including a tour of President Andrew Jackson’s  Hermitage Plantation Home and laying a wreath on President Jackson's grave prior to the rally at the Municipal Auditorium scheduled at 6:30

The day had a chill in the air from a reminder Spring has yet to arrive.

 What arrived were thousands of people converging towards the Municipals Auditorium on 4th Avenue N., Charlotte Avenue  & James Robinson Parkway.  The crowd line stretched for many blocks of people expecting to enter the 9,000 seat auditorium.

Several clusters of protesters including about a hundred was observed marching the streets to voice their unhappiness with POTUS. It was reported the march was organized at the Juvenile Justice Center with plans to march to Public Square Park, chanting and carrying signs.  However,  very few managed to find their way inside.

The rally was the typical President Trump’s reach out to all Americans following his stated agenda to lead America to greatness in overcoming the vital issues that has eroded the nation in past years.  The crowd was energized on many points of the Trump Agenda.

 A key quote from President Trump was his honor and respect to Andrew Jackson, an American soldier and statesman who served as the seventh President of the United States from 1829 to 1837 and was the founder of the Democratic Party.  Before being elected to the presidency, Jackson served in Congress and gained fame as a general in the United States Army. As president, Jackson sought to advance the rights of the "common man" against what he saw as a "corrupt aristocracy" and to preserve the Union. “I just came from a tour of Andrew Jackson’s home to mark the 250th anniversary of his birth,” he said. “Jackson’s life was devoted to one very crucial principle. He understood that real leadership means putting America first.”   President Trump comments resonated the crowd or more than 7,000.

Trump highlighted agenda items that are currently a focal part of his presidency: Heath Care, Infrastructure, Immigration, Building the Wall for Border Control, Terrorism, Tax Reform.  Another torch ignited of the just-released information of a ruling from a federal judge in Hawaii blocking his ban on travel from several majority-Muslim countries by Executive Order.  Trump said he is willing to take the issue to the Supreme Court, citing “unprecedented judicial overreach. ' He said it was put in place for “the safety and security of our people.”

“We’re going to win. We’re going to keep our citizens safe,” the president said. “The danger is clear. The law is clear. The need for my executive order is clear.”

The president hit on making heath care affordable, “There is one more thing we have to do. We are going to repeal and place horrible, disastrous Obamacare. If we leave Obamacare in place, millions and millions of people will be forced of their plans. "The insurers are fleeing. It’s a catastrophic situation,” he added.

In closing, the president said it is "time to embrace our destiny. Anything we can dream for our country we can achieve for our country. All we have to do is tap into that American pride that is swelling our hearts and stirring our souls, and we found that out in our last election.  “We are all Americans and the future truly belongs to us. The future belongs to all of you. This is your moment. This is your time. This is the moment history is made.

“All we have to do is put our own citizens first, and together we will make America strong again. We will make American wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. We will make America great again.”

Overall, it was the typical Presidential event, traffic re-routes, long waiting periods,  delays in access to the building due to tight security outside and inside auditorium.   One observation I noted the media pool appears smaller than the media pool when I gained White House press  access to President Barack Obama’s visit to Chattanooga to the Amazon Center on July 30, 2013.

The following is the list of speakers and performers for the event;

Emcee: Scott Golden, TN GOP Chairman
