Held Long Careers With Chattanooga Fire Department And TVA Sequoyah Nuclear Plant

Jimmy Ray Holdbrooks, Sr., 71, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his home.

Jimmy started his career with the Chattanooga Fire Department where he spent 19 years before taking a position at TVA Sequoyah Nuclear Plant as a fire supervisor. He worked there for 23 years before retiring. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle. He loved to play golf any chance he got and will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Holdbrooks of Chattanooga; son, Jimmy Ray (Wendy) Holdbrooks, Jr. of Chattanooga; daughter, Kelly Holdbrooks of Brevard, NC; brother, Don Holdbrooks of Ringgold; sisters, Glenda Davis of Apison and Sharon Kilgore of Gruetli-Laager; grandchildren, Chase, Bayleigh and Tucker Holdbrooks, all of Georgia.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Reverend David Stancil officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity or any Christian organization.

Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
