James Lee (Jim) Worthington, 78, of Pikeville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017.
He enjoyed music, gospel and bluegrass gospel singing, and fishing. Jim was a licensed builder for many years. He was a charter member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wheeler and Lydia Marie Jenkins Worthington; brother, Gordon Worthington; and sisters, Lela Mae and Mary Jo Worthington.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Voncile Edge Worthington; sons, Terry Worthington, Pikeville; James L. (Sandra) Parks, Pleasant View; daughters, Sherry (Cisco) Thompson, Pikeville and Deborah Worthington, Pikeville; brother, Michael (Pauline) Worthington, Mississippi; grandchildren, Marcus, Lindsey, Justin, Michaela, Leslie, Jason, Tiffany, Austin and Payton; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 24, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Brushy cemetery.
