- University of Tennessee at Chattanooga junior Hannah Chamblin (Memphis, Tenn.) took second in the 800 meter run Saturday at the Emory Classic in Atlanta, Ga.
“Hannah had great positioning throughout the race,” Chattanooga head coach Andy Meyer said. “She passed about four [runners] in the last 150 meters.
“Abby’s race was good for her as a freshman. She was able to hold on and had a good finish.”
Chamblin placed second with a time of 2:15.38 just behind North Georgia’s Brittany Truitt.
Freshman Abby Bateman (Jefferson City, Tenn.) was eighth at 2:19.59. Freshman Kennedy Thomson (Catharine’s, Ontario) placed 12th out of 62 runners with a time of 2:21.81.
Freshman Rebekah Wich (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) finished 14th in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:02.72.
The Mocs ran two teams in the 4x400 meter relay. Team A, Bateman, Julia Henderson, Thomson and Chamblin, finished with a time of 4:13.38. Team B with Maddie Christian, Taylor Sawyer, Kelsey Henry and Maddie Watson finished with a time of 4:34.45.
