One of the largest condominiums in Downtown Chattanooga's Southside will be sold at auction on Thursday, April 20, at 6 p.m., at the condo. The property, located on the second floor of 1401 Chestnut St., is a modern, up-scale urban loft style condominium that was fully remodeled in 2009. It includes living, entertaining and working areas, as well as two bedrooms which can also serve as offices.
There are views from the property of Lookout Mountain and the surrounding area. The property is close to the heart of downtown as well as being less than two blocks from the interstate. Shopping, dining and entertainment are all within walking distance of the condo.
J. Matthew McGauley purchased the two-story, 13,000 square foot building at 1401 Chestnut St., a block off Main Street next to Coker Tire. He has since remodeled the exterior and redeveloped the ground floor into a tech office for San Francisco-based software developer CodeScience. The second floor was already a 6,000 square foot residential condo with a private garage.
There will be open houses on: Thursday, April 6, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; Saturday, April 8, from 1-3 p.m.; Thursday, April 13, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and Saturday, April 15, from 1-3 p.m.
