UTC Softball Team Travels To Tennessee State

The Chattanooga Mocs softball team will head west on I-24 on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference battle against Tennessee State at 6 p.m. (ET) in the Music City.

This marks 19-straight games away from Frost Stadium, the longest span of games away from home in program history and the longest since 16-games in 1997. Chattanooga owns a 13-1 record against TSU under head coach Frank Reed.

The Mocs are 10-22 overall this season and started Southern Conference last weekend at Mercer, going 1-2 in the three-game series.

The Tennessee State Tigers are on a current four game skid after being swept in a pair of Ohio Valley Conference doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday to SIU-Edwardsville and Eastern Illinois, respectively. TSU has claimed non-conference wins over Middle Tennessee, Samford, Loyola, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Jackson State (2x) and Jarvis Christian. Seven of their losses have come by two runs or less including a 2-0 loss to Big 12 member Iowa State.The Tigers roster consists of 19 underclassmen including freshman Selena Crafton who leads the team with a .358 batting average.
