Wallace Grissom
Dr. Wallace D. Grissom, 80, of East Brainerd, died on March 27, 2017, in a local hospice care center.
A native of Old Hickory, Tn., Dr. Grissom has lived in Chattanooga since 1969.
He was a graduate of UT Memphis Medical School, did his internship in Roanoke, Va., and his residency training at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.
Dr. Grissom began his orthopedic surgeon career at Newell Clinic in 1969 before entering practice with Price, Caughren, Grissom and Seiters Orthopedic Group until his retirement in 1988. Dr. Grissom will be remembered by his colleagues and patients as a kind and loving doctor by all who knew him.
Dr. Grissom was a Vietnam veteran of the US Air Force serving as a flight surgeon and was promoted to major in 1967.
He was of the Methodist faith and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors are his wife, Linda Grissom; daughter, Cindy (Steve) Lamsey; two granddaughters, Meghan and Katie Lamsey , former wife, Rebecca D. Grissom, all of Chattanooga; brother, Ray (Julie) Grissom, Nashville.
Graveside services will be held on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Father Mike Nolan officiating.
