Sandra Ann O’Connor Brown, 60, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, peacefully at home after a courageous fight with breast cancer.  She was surrounded by her loving family at her passing.

Sandra was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and a 1974 graduate of Red Bank High School.  She retired from the United States Post Office in 2016, after 33 years of service.  Sandra was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.  She was an avid league bowler at Holiday Bowl on Brainerd Road, and was the first woman to finish the regulation season with a 206 bowling average.  Sandra loved to cross stitch and fish.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Gene O’Connor.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Roberts; grandsons, Alex and Stuart Doss; siblings, Patty O’Connor Colosia, Connie O’Connor Howard, and Michael (Shannon) O’Connor; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, April 3, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A memorial service to remember Sandra will follow at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 3, at the North Chapel with Father Charlie Burton presiding. 

A funeral mass will be held at on Tuesday, April 4, at 11 a.m.  at St. Jude Catholic Church, 930 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, TN 37415 with Father Charlie Burton officiating.   

The family would like to thank Dr. John McCravey and Dr. Phillip Burns for all their care and kindness for the past 26 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sandra’s name to St. Jude Catholic Church or Hearth Hospice, 1800 Rossville Avenue, Suite 7, Chattanooga, TN 37408.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
