Lee University School of Music will present its final Wind Ensemble concert for the semester on Monday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.
The concert will feature classical and modern music with compositions by such luminaries as Paul Hindemith, Norman Dello Joio, Samuel Barber and Aaron Copland. Other compositions will be featured by composers Daniel French, Vaclav Nehlybel, and David Holsinger, professor of music at Lee and Wind Ensemble director.
“And of course, no Wind Ensemble concert goes on without a couple of marches by John Philip Sousa!” said Conductor Holsinger.
The ensemble will be directed by Conductor Holsinger as well as associate conductor and wife Winona Gray Holsinger and graduate conducting students Laura Denneker and Seok Joon Keun.
This year’s edition of the Lee Wind Ensemble features 47 wind and percussion musicians from a number of different majors on campus. It is an auditioned ensemble with a mission for performance of a diversified repertoire of classic and modern wind and percussion literature.
This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
