Ida Emma Hinkle Graham, 97, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Lifecare Center of Sparta, TN.
She was born July 11, 1919 to Andrew Shade Hinkle and Nancy Ellen McCrary Hinkle in Hollywood, AL. She moved to South Pittsburg, TN as a young child where she lived until the age of 15, when she married and moved to the Glover's Hill Community in Jasper , where she lived the majority of her life. Ida loved her church at Glover's Hill and may have been one of the longest serving members of the Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 plus years Waymon Robert Graham; her second husband Dillard Shadrick; brother Alfred Hinkle; sister Elizabeth "Lizzy" Smith; sons Robert (Bobby) Graham and Floyd Graham of Jasper, TN; grandson Doyle(Danny) Jones; granddaughters Renee Cannon and Tammy Summers; great-granddaughter Megan Flynn; and great-grandsons Heath Jones, Nevin Martin, Andrew and Adam Hughes.
She is survived by her sons Waymon Graham of Jasper and Doug (Lynn) Graham of Sequatchie; daughters, Mary Ellen Jones of Jasper, Shirley Jones of Powells Crossroads, Betty Graham of Jasper and Zelda (Robert) Brown of Sparta, TN; numerous grandchildren extending 6 generations; and a lifetime of friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation to everyone at Lifecare Center of Sparta for the wonderful care our Mother received during her stay.
A celebration of Ida's life will be conducted from the Funeral Home Chapel Friday March 10, at 2 p.m. CST with Pastor Brian Varnell officiating. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
There will be a private visitation for family Thursday March 9, at 12 p.m. CST and public visitation will be Thursday March 9, from 1-8p.m. CST and Friday March 10, from 10 a.m. CST until time of service.
