Davidson County Woman, 35, Drowns At Center Hill Lake After Spending Night On Houseboat

A woman was found drowned at Center Hill Lake Sunday after she had been reported missing earlier.

 

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency along with the DeKalb and Putnam County rescue squads and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call for a missing person at the Hurricane Marina off of Highway 56 around 9:30 a.

m. on Sunday.

 

Thirty-five year old Aimee McCray of Davidson County was reported missing after a friend’s search of the area turned up empty.

 

Ms. McCray reportedly spent the previous evening on a houseboat but could not be found the next morning.

 

The DeKalb County Rescue Squad discovered Ms. McCray’s body in the water near the boat dock around 3:20 p.m. The Putnam County Rescue Squad recovered the body.

 

The accident is still under investigation.
