Lee University will host the 2017 Chamber Music Showcase on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Squires Recital Hall.
“We are very proud of our newly established chamber music program at Lee,” said Dr. Gloria Chien, artist-in-residence at Lee and showcase director. “The students have loved working with their colleagues in this more intimate form of music where there is only one musician to a part.”
The concert will feature various chamber music ensembles including works for two pianos, a brass quintet and a piano quintet by Ewald, Lutoslawski, Piazzolla, Purcell, Schumann, and Vaughan Williams.
The Chamber Music Showcase is the final concert of the semester highlighting all of Lee’s chamber music ensembles this semester.
“It has been wonderful to see the passion and joy the students exude from playing chamber music,” said Dr. Chien. “We are very excited to be able to present this program of great chamber music performed by our own students.”
Squires Recital Hall is in Lee’s Humanities Center on Parker Street. This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
