Ooltewah capped off a three-win day in the Soddy-Daisy’s Lady Trojan softball invitational Friday with a 5-4 victory over Creek Wood that was decided by two innings of the international tie-breaker and Aubbie Collake’s two-run single in the seventh inning.

In other games at Warner Park, the Lady Owls routed Rhea County 12-5 and rode Jadyn Raschke’s three-inning no-hitter by Jadyn Raschke in a 12-0 shellacking of CSAS.

The wins extended Ooltewah’s winning streak to eight games since a shocking loss to McMinn County on April 7. The Lady Owls (15-3) have outscored their last eight opponents by a combined 81-16.

Raschke’s no-hitter was the second in as many days for the Lady Owls. Kayla Boseman threw a six-inning gem in an 11-0 win over Soddy-Daisy in District 5-3A action on Thursday.

“We have won 16 of 19 games, but we hadn't played up to what the record indicates until (Thursday) night,” Lady Owls coach Jon Massey said in a telephone interview. “That was a big win for us and (Friday) we hit the ball hard and kept hitting. Pitching has never been a problem.”

The Lady Owls collected 13 hits in the win over Soddy-Daisy and banged out 32 more in the three tournament games.

Neither Ooltewah nor Creek Wood (18-9) scored in the sixth inning, but the Red Hawks went ahead 4-3 in the top of the seventh.

Tiera Lemon led off the Lady Owls’ seventh on second base. With one out Boseman singled Lemon to third. Boseman stole second base and Collake ripped a 1-2 pitch down the left-field line for a game-winning two-run single. It was Collake’s second hit in four at-bats.

Boseman went 3-for-4 after a 4-for-4 effort, including a two-run homer, in the Thursday win.

Cheyenne Sales was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Mackenzie Patterson (4-2) scattered seven hits over seven innings for the victory. She struck out.

Ooltewah 12, CSAS 0: Raschke improved her record to 2-0 with the no-hitter against the Lady Patriots. She struck out three and walked two.

“Jadyn is always around the plate,” Massey said.

Collake was 2-for-3 and drove in three runs, including one on a double.

Madalyn Mills stroked a RBI triple. Tyler Sullivan had a two-run double, Mabry Carpenter tripled and scored twice and Lemon added a hit, walked, stole two bases and scored twice.

Ooltewah 12, Rhea County 5: The Lady Golden Eagles jumped on Lady Owls starter Hadley Morrow for five runs in the first two innings, including Delaney Smith’s two-run home run to right-center field.

Ooltewah answered with six runs in the second and six more in the fourth.

Only two of the Rhea County runs against Morrow (3-0) were earned. She struck out two and allowed six hits.

Carpenter was 2-for-3 and belted a three-run double to left-center in the second inning. Boseman had two singles with one RBI and stole two bases. Collake went 2-for-2 with a run-scoring single in the second and scored a run.

Marissa Forrester was 2-for-2, scored twice and drove in a run while Shelby Sutton added a three-run triple in the fourth inning.

The Lady Owls are likely going to play Girls Preparatory School at 10:30 a.m. in their first game Saturday.

“Saturday is going to be a big day for us,” Massey said. “We need to compete and see what we can do.”

GPS (14-3) notched wins over Cookeville (10-0) and Chattanooga Central (16-1) on Friday before losing to Knox Halls (3-0).
