Prep Baseball: McCallie Wins Ties in Knoxville

McCallie (6-9-1) defeated Sissonville (W., Va.) 7-3 and tied Mt. Juliet Friday in a high school baseball doubleheader played in Knoxville Friday.

McCallie 7, Sissonville 3: The Blue Tornado scored six runs in the top of the first on the way to the win. Max Reimer was 3 of 4 for McCallie, including two doubles and an RBI, while Corbin Brooksbank was 1 for 2 with an RBI and scored a run and stole one base.

McCallie starter and winner Holdin Shell pitched four innings allowing six hits, one earned run and struck out two Sissonville batters.

Sissonville was led by Zac Boggess (2 for 3, RBI) and Chance Jones (2 for 3, 1 run.)

S-ville 011 100 0 – 3-7-2

McCallie 4, Mt. Juliet 4

In a nine inning game, McCallie’s Max Reimer and J.D. Day were each 2 for 4 with an RBI

Jack Simonson was 2 for 4 and scored a run for Mt. Juliet.

McCallie scored two runs in the first and one in the second, but Mt, Juliet tied the game with two in the fourth and one in the fifth. Both teams scored a run in the ninth.

Saturday's Games: McCallie plays Bardstown (Ky.) at 10 a.m and Walker Valley at 12:30 p.m. .. both games played in Knoxville.
